Archive for Nate
I guess it’s “really, really, good” isn’t much of a spoiler. But it’s accurate. The May 17 Gossip Girl sendoff features big payoffs, several OMG! twists, and a Georgina comeback. Enough, if you ask me, to more than make up for an uneven (but not nearly as bad as some people have said!) season. Most importantly, Chuck/Blair fans freaking out over a certain spoiler-laced European trailer that shows the couple nearing third base should simmer down and judge things after watching the entire hour — a sentiment echoed by exec producer Stephanie Savage.
“I really encourage people who have seen that promo to tune in and watch the whole episode in context,” she pleads. “Those were a few moments that were taken out of context to create the most salacious experience possible. And some people who are having a negative reaction to what they’re seeing I think will have a different reaction when they see it in context. Everyone’s making decisions that are reasonable based on the information that they have.”
In other words, Savage and Co. wouldn’t do you, or your faves, wrong. “This is a story that has been three years in the telling — going back to the pilot,” she reminds us. “And that’s a story that we’ll keep telling in season 4. So I don’t think it’s coming out of nowhere. And it lands on everybody. It lands on Dan, Blair, Serena, Rufus, Lily, Nate — every single person has a POV about this, and we’re going to see these ripple effects over time. “
For now, though, here are eight tantalizing teases to calm you down, wind you up or, most likely, both. Next Monday’s capper will include a:
· Threesome
· Departure
· Mini time-jump
· Engagement ring!
· Shooting
· Birth
· Shocking OMG! twist
· A pair of spectacular Jenny smackdowns at the hands of Blair (Leighton Meester never better!)
After the last cute-but-filler episode of ‘Gossip Girl’, it was nice to see our favorite Upper East Siders going full throttle and giving us some long-awaited closure this week; we were treated to a make-up, a break-up and a wake-up, and all three were long overdue.
Forget ornithology, in NYC, we’re firmly focused on skank-watching, and thanks to Little J, our binoculars have been getting a major work-out over the past few episodes. This week saw Jenny stepping up her game in a way that would make Channing Tatum jealous, even going so far as to enlist the help of a certain Basstard in her attempt to pry Nate out of Serena’s distracted arms.
I know the first season was a whole three years ago, but surely I’m not the only one who remembers Chuck and Jenny’s first rooftop encounter? I can’t help but find it deeply skeevy any time our billionaire playboy gets all lecherous with Jenny from the block, especially considering he was about thirty seconds from date-raping her in the very first episode — take heed, writers, first impressions aren’t so easy to shake.
Regardless of the ickiness of Chuck and Jenny’s unholy alliance, it was clear that Chuck is every bit as well-versed in the Serena van der Woodsen playbook as the rest of us; if there’s a wrong conclusion to jump to, chances are that S has already set the long-jump record. She played right into Jenny’s hands with her overreaction to spotting Nate’s shirt in Jenny’s bag, and even flipped out at him after witnessing him valiantly deflecting Jenny’s advances. Very bad form, S.
While I think Nate was entirely justified in his frustration over Serena’s secrecy (even though he’s such a doormat, it’s no wonder she walks all over him) it was satisfying to see her finally open up, and for the ever-faithful Nate to still be willing to hear her out even after she’d given him the run-around for days. Sure beats the old Serena/Dan dynamic of seeing who could push the other away the hardest.
And can I get a hallelujah that Nate decided to grow a backbone just in time to turn the hose on Little Jenny Homewrecker’s burning love? Interesting that we weren’t treated to a shot of her reaction to his dismissal — I’m guessing that we’re saving that nuclear fallout for next week.
But as one door opens, another closes, which hopefully means an end for the terminally snoozeworthy Dan and Vanessa romance. At first it seemed like Dan had finally figured out a way not to let his insecurity royally FUBAR his relationship this time around, but then he went blabbing about his bruised ego to Willa, somehow expecting that his gossip wouldn’t get right back to Vanessa; has he even seen this show?
I’m crossing my fingers that this means Lonely Boy will go back to being lonely instead of just dull, and maybe one of these days he’ll figure out that he needs to stop dating overachieving type-A women who are always going to surpass him, at least until he learns to embrace his mediocrity.
As for the aforementioned wake-up? I’m pretty sure that this episode treated us to the most mature and mentally stable Blair Waldorf in the history of the show, and I couldn’t have loved her more.
After enduring yet another one of Chuck’s grandiose mind games, Blair finally decided that it was time to give up her timeshare in Denial and head for a brighter climate –obviously there’s no point trying to ignore the impact that Chuck has had on her, but that doesn’t mean she’s a ruined woman. Once again, it’s nice to see her growing up and letting go, even if baby Bass is having issues with doing the same.
And what’s this I spy with my little eye, another long-lost relative who may not be exactly what he seems? Just another Monday on the Upper East Side, then. I just hope that Dr. van der Woodsen won’t be writing Serena a prescription for a whole heap of new daddy issues by the season’s end, the tabloids can’t take the excitement.
Until next week, ‘Gossip’ groupies.

Next on “Gossip Girl“, Will’s return to the Upper East Side continues to stir up problems for Serena, Lily and his long-standing rival, Rufus. Serena and Jenny’s relationship is strained as a result of Jenny’s deception.

Speaking about how big his character’s influence in the last three episodes of season 3, William Baldwin told MTV, “It’s in the eye of the beholder.” He elaborated, “It’s a beautiful arc with a great sort of cliffhanger that will create a great water cooler moment for the audience. I can tell you something – it’s quite clear that there’s a lot of powerful emotions that are exchanged not only between Serena and William but between William and the whole family.”
Meanwhile, Jenny will take some time off next season as previously reported. The reason of her departure would be “a culmination of lots of things Jenny does to multiple people.” Beside breaking Rufus and Lily’s marriage, she has also manipulated Nate and Serena’s relationship.
Also in the May 3 episode, Blair spends time on the Columbia campus and realizes where she truly belongs. A poster of Blair upfront is released with the logo “The *itch is Back” to indicate that the character’s ego has returned. Meanwhile, Dan learns that Vanessa has been keeping yet another secret from him. According to E! Vanessa will also be a goner next season although Jessica Szohr’s status will still be a regular.
One major character will be noticeably missing from the next season of “Gossip Girl“. Jenny Humphrey, the character played by Taylor Momsen, will take a hiatus not because the actress is taking a leave but rather because the writers want so.

Per EW, a source close to The CW series confirmed that the actress will be absent for an unspecified number of episodes at the beginning of next season for “creative” reasons. The source said, “When you watch the finale. You’ll see that we’re doing something very big with her character.”
While the synopsis of the finale is yet to come out, the clue of what leads Jennie to be an outcast may be driven from the latest promo that the network released. Fans of the show may have come to knowledge that Jenny has an eye for Nate and she is determined to sabotage his relationship with Serena. The April 26 episode could be the pivotal story that kicks Jenny off the show temporarily.
Mark your calendars, everyone, because all the teen/tweens of the show were in the same building at the same time! That even includes Eric, who finally returned to the show.
But that wasn’t the important event of the episode. Actually, Nate’s birthday party and Vanessa and Dan’s relationship problems were only filler when compared to what happened between Satan Jack, Chuck and Blair. “Oh. My God.” is all I can say about the twists and turns of this storyline!
I knew Chuck was going to do something terrible in this episode. Before seeing ‘Inglorious Bassterds,’ I thought that maybe Chuck would enlists Blair’s help in getting the hotel back and that maybe it would involve an ‘Indecent Proposal’-type of trick. Never did I think Chuck would stoop as low as he did.
I can somewhat understand where Chuck is coming from. As he told Blair, she did tell him that she would stand by her man through the dark times. To Chuck, this was such a dark time, and he was sure Blair would see it that way, too. Blair does love Chuck, as she proved this week by agreeing to sleep with Jack in order to get the hotel/empire back. However, him going behind Blair’s back and playing tricks to have her go to Jack without asking her upfront was a low blow.
Blair has been loyal to Chuck and was there through his hardships. Why did Chuck think it wouldn’t have worked if he asked? He has seen Blair pull off quite the master plans in the past, and she would have surely been able to pull that one off, too. Chuck, Chuck, Chuck! I’m disappointed. Then again, this adds a lot of drama to the show. Chuck was clearly blinded by his need for power and to prove his father wrong. Otherwise, he would have seen the error of his ways and that tricking the woman you love into sleeping with your uncle cannot have a fairytale ending.
I’m a “Chair” or a “Bluck,” however, as Chuck+Blair shippers are called, so this turn of events is not a fun one for me. I’ve read over and over again that the show’s Powers That Be have a plan for the couple and that TV couples need to have problems to be interesting and to keep viewers coming back. But did they need to have Chuck do such a bad thing to Blair? Having him ask her to sleep with Jack could have rocked the couple, too! Imagine if Blair had slept with Jack after Chuck asked her. Would Chuck be able to see Blair the same way? Would Blair be able to forgive herself for sleeping with Jack even if it was to help Chuck? See? It could have put the couple on the rocks for a few weeks.
In other ‘Gossip Girl’ news, Dan and Vanessa are as boring as ever. However, it may get interesting for at least one episode if Vanessa gets in the Tisch Program and Dan doesn’t. Elsewhere, Jenny tries to get her hands back on Nate. He doesn’t seem interested, but that may not stop her until it’s too late. Eric meets someone new. Still no news about Lily. The best news of the episode: Dorota gets engaged!!!

In the next “Gossip Girl“, Chuck offers to throw a wedding for a very pregnant Dorota. The maid insists that she and Vanya have a traditional wedding before her parents arrive from Poland and find their daughter pregnant and without a husband.

Dorota asks Blair and Chuck to be part of the ceremony and walk her down the aisle. Serena tells Nate she is having breakfast with the Humphreys when in reality she’s secretly meeting up with Carter Baizen. Rufus discovers that Lily has been lying to him about her whereabouts.
“The Unblairable Lightness of Being” airs on April 12.
Commenting on the April 5 episode that determined Chuck and Blair’s relationship, “Gossip Girl” creator Josh Schwartz said that fans should not lose faith on the couple. “The thing that fans should know that hopefully is reassuring,” Josh explained, “is that Chuck and Blair are always top of mind to me and [co-creator] Stephanie [Savage], to the writers. There’s been a long-term plan in place since the beginning of the show about them as a couple, and Chuck and Blair will always be top of mind.”

Chace Crawford and Taylor Momsen were spotted back in Manhattan to film “Gossip Girl“. The actors who portray Nate and Jenny respectively were photographed on the outdoor set on Monday, February 1.

Momsen, who came under fire recently for smoking in public despite being 16-year-old, was seen with a drink can on her hand. Crawford meanwhile was fresh from returning from Sundance Festival where he premiered the indie movie “Twelve” along with Emma Roberts and 50 Cent.
“Gossip Girl” is giving up its Monday night slot to “Life Unexpected”, a new drama series starring Brittany Robertson, Kristoffer Polaha and Shiri Appleby among others. Slated to return March 8 for the remainder of season 3, “Gossip” will take over “One Tree Hill” hour and be paired with “Unexpected”.
The signs that Jenny’s (Taylor Momsen) story arc on Gossip Girl is modeled after a certain helmet-headed Star Wars villain are increasing by the day.
You know. Anakin. Darth Vader. Sweet little boy turned ugly, evil lord of the Dark Side. Just so we’re clear, for the non-nerds out there.

Is Jenny hell-bent on entering the Dark Side, never to return? Will she soon begin wearing a black cape and navigating a Death Star around Manhattan? Not quite. But there will be casualties. Check out Kristin Dos Santos’ latest Gossip Girl dish:
Q: Will Jenny get her knight in shining Armani? I’ve waited so long for Nate and Jenny to happen! Please, please tell me they will be a couple. I want them as my Christmas present!
A: Here’s what I can tell you. According to my source: “Jenny definitely will try to steal Nate away” later this season, after Nate and Serena are more of a solidified couple. However, in what has been written so far, I’m told “Nate is resisting.” That said, it certainly seems as though Jenny has fully embraced the dark side of her Machiavellian ways (will she be worse than Blair ever was?) because according to my mole, the whole Nate stealing is “going to be pretty underhanded by Jenny. Serena won’t really suspect it for a bit.” So let me get this straight: Little J has screwed over her stepbrother/former BFF and now her stepsister too?! Talk about a character 180 from the first season! Do we have a new Big Bad on the Upper East Side? Are producers trying to make us not like her? Thoughts?
Q: Some Gossip Girl news please! Anything big coming up? Deaths? Hookups? Marriages?
A: Dorota is getting married! Pretty sweet, no? And now that two people very close to Blair have gotten hitched lately (first mom, now Dorota), she has to be next right? OK, probably not. But a girl can dream.
Well, at least there’s a Dorota-shaped silver lining in there for us. But the real juice is all about Jenny: are you itching to see her get bad, bad, badder, or do you wish someone would shove the dark little drug dealer in rehab, even if she says “No, no, no”?
Thoughts? GO!
What did you think of last night’s episode of Gossip Girl, ‘The Treasure of Serena Madre’?
I can’t think of a better Thanksgiving recipe for disaster than the guest list for Rufus and Lily’s dinner party. What a perfect storm. I don’t even know where to begin with the dinner to let me come back to that in a minute. This Gossip Girl Thanksgiving I was most thankful for Blair – she is so awesome!
Here are my favorite Blair quotes of the night:
Blair to Serena ‘then what are you exactly, an 18 year old blonde coincidence’?
Dorota to Blair ‘it’s private’. Blair to Dorota: ‘The INS tip-line isn’t’.
Blair to Jenny: ‘Where are you dragging me, haven’t you heard of the `whisper aside’?
Okay, so now let’s talk about some of the events that transpired at dinner. What does everyone think about Trip and Serena? I was so happy when Nate outed them and they split up for a second. FINALLY I thought, Serena does the right thing. I really wanted to see her with Nate or on her way to Paris with Blair at the end. Why does nothing turn out like I want it to? Even though Trip is pretty cute (in a smug, preppy sort of way) he’s married!!! Ug, Serena.
Also, does anyone have any guesses as to what was in the letter from Serena’s dad? I’m at a loss here but I can only guess it juicy. I wonder when Rufus is going to realize how evil Lily is? She always seems to be hiding some big dark secret (ex: having a son with Rufus). I can’t wait to see what Maureen does with this letter.
Out of all the other plots going on, I was most interested in the possibly of Dorota being pregnant. I hope there are good things in store for her. She might be the only good person on the whole show. So, since this was such a great episode tonight, I can’t wait to hear what you thought of it, so drop me a line and let me know your take. Talk to you next week. XoXo!
