Hit CW Series to Film First Two Episodes of Season Four in Paris
May 12, 2010 (Burbank, California) ─ The CW’s pop culture phenom GOSSIP GIRL is leaving the Upper East Side behind and jetting off to Paris to kick off season four in the City of Light. Series stars Blake Lively, Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick will be filming on location in Paris in early July for the first two episodes of the season. GOSSIP GIRL airs Monday nights (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) on The CW.
In the season four premiere, GOSSIP GIRL will find a radiant Serena van der Woodsen (Lively) and Blair Waldorf (Meester) enjoying their grand and romantic summer in Paris. However, Serena and Blair will be in for a few big OMG surprises when a friend from home mysteriously appears on the scene.
“Paris has always been the ultimate extension of our GOSSIP GIRL world — the home of high fashion, Michelin star restaurants, chic night clubs, and Blair’s favorite sweet (macaroons, of course!),” says executive producer Stephanie Savage. “We’re thrilled to be able to share with our fans that this fall GOSSIP GIRL is going to Paris. We hope that they’ll come along with Blair, Serena and Chuck for the first two episodes of season four.”
Filmed in New York and based on the popular series of young-adult novels by Cecily von Ziegesar, GOSSIP GIRL is from Fake Empire and Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios with executive producers Josh Schwartz (“Chuck,” “The O.C.”), Stephanie Savage (“The O.C.”) sptv050769, Leslie Morgenstein (“The Vampire Diaries”), Bob Levy (“The Vampire Diaries”), and Joshua Safran.

EW: Your GG costar Leighton Meester is also trying to launch a music career. Ever talk about it?
TM: No. I’m not really close with my cast. We’re all cordial and nice to each other, but we’re not really friends outside of the set.
EW: I heard Jenny is going to be MIA for the beginning of next season.
TM: I’m gonna be on tour. But as far as next season goes I don’t really know what’s going on. I don’t wanna talk about that because it’s up in the air. At the end of the season, you’ll see.

Apart from the OMFG moments that abound on Gossip Girl, fans of the CW hit also watch out for the drool-worthy Upper East Side fashions (or Brooklyn for Vanessa and Jenny) that the characters don every episode. From $600 robes to $2,000 bags, Gossip Girl seems hell-bent on imposing high-end couture to an audience that seems mostly incapable of realistically acquiring them in the first place – especially if they’re too busy attending eighth grade.

We looked into how much would it cost to dress like Blair (Leighton Meester) or Serena (Blake Lively) on Gossip Girl, and unlike Blair’s headbands, these things are not to be scoffed at.

Georgina Sparks is making her way back to the Upper East Side for the very last episode of season 3, and the actress who plays her, Mercy cutie Michelle Trachtenberg, has some predictions about (pardon the pun) what sparks will fly upon her Gossip Girl return.

“I’m sure there’ll be a big scandal,” Michelle tells E! Online. “She’s back for vengeance.”
Trachtenberg will share the screen twice this spring with one of her Gossip Girl buddies: Connor Paolo (Eric van der Woodsen) will guest on her hospital drama Mercy on March 3.
According to E! Online, on Mercy Paolo will play “a kid who sets off a pipe bomb on a commuter bus. He’s brought in as a patient, and the father of another boy on the bus goes after him with a gun.”
As far as Gossip Girl, Trachtenberg foresees a showdown between her character and Blair Waldorf, played by her real-life buddy Leighton Meester.
“I’m sure Georgina will be seeking vengeance They haven’t written it yet, but she was tricked and sent away, after all. And that li’l lady certainly doesn’t like to be tricked.” And remember who tricked Georgina into flying abroad with a so-called “prince” (played by doorman Vanya)? Yes, it was Blair, with the help of Dorota, of course!
“It’s so funny because Leighton [Meester] and I are so close,” said Trachtenberg last month. “And we always have to say, ‘I hate you!’ but it’s like, ‘I don’t really hate you, I love you!’ At her performances, [Leighton] has me at the front row and, like, we sing to each other while she’s singing up there. So, we’re the cheeseball friends.”
What do you hope to see from Georgina Sparks on Gossip Girl? Are you a fan of Michelle on Mercy?
