Last week, The CW released some very early, brief but juicy Gossip Girl Season 4 spoilers.
“Season 4 will open with a radiant Serena and Blair enjoying their grand and romantic summer in Paris,” a press release from the network regarding the 2010-11 season reads. “Until Chuck mysteriously arrives in town with a new girlfriend and a new identity.”
Who is this new, mystery girlfriend? We obviously don’t know yet, but we’re going to find out.
This week, producers began the process of casting the recurring role of Eva, an utterly gorgeous female in her 20s or 30s who boasts a warm heart and an authentic French accent. Shooting begins in early July in both New York and Paris for the new season.
Any thoughts on who should play this new Gossip Girl character – or what her role will be?
Not that we’re surprised, but the Gossip Girl press release unveiled at the CW network’s upfront presentation for Season 4 seems to confirm that Ed Westwick’s character lives.
Despite being in peril in Prague as the Season 3 finale drew to a close, it looks like Chuck Bass will recover in time to fight another season. In Europe, no less. Excited yet?! The circumstances surrounding his return are intriguing, and a little unexpected, to say the least. Here’s the CW’s first tease for what we can expect in the 2010-11 season …

While “Gossip Girl” is taking a one-week break from television, The CW has debuted a featurette which is dedicated to Blair and Chuck’s romance. Recalling the first time they hooked up in the limo up to the recent break-up during Dorota’s wedding, the footage also gives away scenes from the season’s finale.
From the look of the preview, fans will get another cliffhanger about the relationship of the two. The couple has been seeing each other on and off throughout the past three seasons but executive producers Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz said what Chuck did in the episode “Inglourious Bassterds” was unforgivable. Apparently, a new guy will come into Blair’s life playing along with her to make Chuck jealous.
“Gossip Girl” has three more episodes left before it wraps up the season with a finale on May 17. The CW has renewed the show for a fourth season.
In the next “Gossip Girl“, Chuck offers to throw a wedding for a very pregnant Dorota. The maid insists that she and Vanya have a traditional wedding before her parents arrive from Poland and find their daughter pregnant and without a husband.
Dorota asks Blair and Chuck to be part of the ceremony and walk her down the aisle. Serena tells Nate she is having breakfast with the Humphreys when in reality she’s secretly meeting up with Carter Baizen. Rufus discovers that Lily has been lying to him about her whereabouts.
“The Unblairable Lightness of Being” airs on April 12.
Commenting on the April 5 episode that determined Chuck and Blair’s relationship, “Gossip Girl” creator Josh Schwartz said that fans should not lose faith on the couple. “The thing that fans should know that hopefully is reassuring,” Josh explained, “is that Chuck and Blair are always top of mind to me and [co-creator] Stephanie [Savage], to the writers. There’s been a long-term plan in place since the beginning of the show about them as a couple, and Chuck and Blair will always be top of mind.”
When “Gossip Girl” returns, Chuck learns more about the woman who may or may not be his mother. Laura Harring, who previously made an appearance in the episode “The Debarted”, is reprising her role as Evelyn Bass in “The Lady Vanished“.
Beside the preview which is released this week, there already was a clip from the episode that highlights on Blair’s misery. Faking a sex with Chuck who is actually not on her bedroom, Blair pours out her feeling about Chuck to Serena, saying “He’s shutting me out in his head, all the time. Last week he went through something and if he’s still upset, I just want him to be able to talk to me.”
Producer Stephanie Savage told E!, “Chuck and Blair’s main story when we come back will be solving the mystery of the lady at Bart’s grave. Who she is, where she came from, what she wants. I think it’s a really great Chuck and Blair story that’s very emotional. You see them working together and supporting each other in a way that I think fans will really enjoy.”
Also in the episode airing on March 15, Rufus and Lily grow suspect of Jenny’s relationship with Damien. Dan and Vanessa struggle through the awkwardness of dating other people.

“The Vampire Diaries” executive producer Bob Levy has promised that he would work hard to make the show crossing path with “Gossip Girl“. The idea is to have either Nina Dobrev’s Elena visiting the Upper East Side or Leighton Meester’s Blair coming to Mystic Falls.
Proposed with the idea, Levy said, “I love that idea!” He added to E! Online, “We’re gonna work on that. You have my word.” Dobrev herself is excited at making a cameo on another show. “Oh my god, I would love to be on ‘Gossip Girl’,” she said. “I feel like it’s hard to do because we’re both so busy. But I would love to, and I would for her to be on our show. Leighton would make a great vampire, I think!”
Beside the cramped schedule, Dobrev would also have to think about the shooting location. “Vampire” production takes place in Atlanta while “Gossip” shoots in New York. “The trick is tearing Nina away from Atlanta,” Levy thought about a solution. “She’s in almost every scene of every episode. So it’s hard scheduling-wise to work that out. But I love that pitch! Good pitch. We’re gonna work to make it happen.”
In real life, Nina Dobrev and Leighton Meester are friends. They met while shooting for “The Roommate“, a psychological thriller about a deranged college freshman which will be screened in U.S. theaters on September 17.
A fact that has got fans of “Gossip Girl” rooting for the show will soon be ended. E! Online reported that the show’s fan-favorite couple will meet a dead end in their relationship and that “it’s a bad, bad breakup.”
There will be no more Chuck and Blair romance in the upcoming episodes. This has been a rumor for sometime but E! could confirm the news, adding that the culprit in the split is Chuck. The Bass Empire successor does “something horrible” that everyone will hate him for it. His uncle Jack Bass is also involved in the implication.
“Gossip Girl” is taking a hiatus to give the time slot for new series “Life Unexpected“. It will return on March 8 but the break up plot will only occur either on April 5 episode “Inglourious Bassterds” or the next one, “The Unblairable Lightness of Being“.

We ran into the Gossip Girl goddess at the opening of Klutch nightclub in Miami and she seemed to spill some very big beans on what’s ahead on her CW show:
“Someone is pregnant!”
After searching high and low, near and far, and in every imaginary OB/GYN office on the Upper East Side we have concluded: That mischievous little minx was talking about freaking Dorota. Yes, Dorota! You know, Blair’s hired hand? And this wouldn’t be such a letdown if we didn’t already know this info ages ago when it was revealed on the show.
