THANKSGIVING ON THE UPPER EAST SIDE — It wouldn’t be Thanksgiving on the Upper East Side if there wasn’t a serving or two of some major drama for the holiday. Blair (Leighton Meester) suspects her mom (guest star Margaret Colin) has been keeping a big secret from her, but it turns out to be something else entirely. Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) is supposed to spend Thanksgiving with her parents, but has a fight with her mom (guest star Gina Torres) and shows up on Dan’s (Penn Badgley) doorstep. Rufus (Matthew Settle) learns that Lily (Kelly Rutherford) has been lying to him about her mother, Cece (guest star Caroline Lagerfelt). Chuck (Ed Westwick) tells Nate (Chace Crawford) that he has some potentially damaging information about one of their friends. Jenny (Taylor Momsen) learns that Eric (Connor Paolo) was behind her very public embarrassment at Cotillion and can’t pass up a chance to get even. Serena (Blake Lively) is put in a very awkward position when her mother invites Trip (guest star Aaron Tveit) and Maureen (guest star Holley Fain) to join them for Thanksgiving dinner.. The episode was directed by Mark Piznarski directed the episode written by Robert Hull & Joshua Safran. (#311).
The threesome of “Gossip Girl” this week is just the beginning. The November 16 episode will reveal more layers of the kinky activity done by Olivia, Dan and Vanessa. In the preview, Olivia says it out loud that she thinks Vanessa is deeply in love with her childhood friend, Dan.
The three-way sex story arc has somewhat created a controversy since its first hint was given via EW. Parents TV Council (PTC) has warned The CW that it will pay close attention to the episode and will charge the network with necessary fine should it trespass any broadcasting rules. Despite the warning, the network went on with the episode, showing Dan, Vanessa and Olivia doing the last thing on their Ultimate College Experience list which they haven’t done. There is still no comment yet from PTC.
Beside putting the threesome as the attraction of the next episode, “Gossip” is also bringing in a performance by Lady GaGa. Hoping to impress the elitist theater kids at NYU, Blair calls in a favor to land a private concert with the hottest musical performer of the year. She will sing “Bad Romance” with ladders and 35-foot-long dress involved.

Olivia, as a guest on Jimmy Fallon’s talk show, says something she regrets and tries to hide it from Dan. With elections coming up, Nate suspects his grandfather will do everything he has to get Trip into congress. After another fight with Serena, Blair gets a new friend and takes her to an election night party at Chuck’s hotel, just to make Serena jealous.

CHUCK BASS OPENS A CLUB AT HIS NEW HOTEL / ALBERT HAMMOND JR. PERFORMS IN THE EPISODE — In need of publicity for his new hotel, Chuck (Ed Westwick) decides to move up his club’s opening and enlists Serena’s (Blake Lively) help to get the word out to her celebrity clients. Feeling left out of the planning, Blair (Leighton Meester) attempts to win Chuck’s approval by secretly helping him with a problem concerning opening night. Dan (Penn Badgley) is unnerved when he finally watches one of Olivia’s (guest star Hilary Huff) infamous sex scenes with co-star and real-life boyfriend at the time, Patrick Robinson (guest star Simon Miller). Jenny (Taylor Momsen) is forced to choose between her relationship with Eric (Connor Paolo) and her new role as Queen Bee. Rufus (Matthew Settle) gets Lily (Kelly Rutherford) into the Halloween spirit. Chace Crawford also stars. Joe Lazarov directed the episode written by Sara Goodman (e#307).
Not stopping at Hilary Duff and Tyra Banks, “Gossip Girl” is moving forward with signing one more major guest star. The latest report from New York Daily News suggested that Lady GaGa is the next star to pop up on the show and that she has filmed her part on Tuesday, October 6 in the lower East Side.
The CW drama has previously nabbed a guest appearance from another music act No Doubt who went by the name Snowed Out in a crowded gig scene. GaGa, similarly will be a performer on the show, but NY Daily News noted that she would “perform as herself”. There is no clue yet when the episode with GaGa on will be airing.
In the meantime, The CW is releasing two clips from the next episode called “Rufus Getting Married”. The first one is Chuck giving Blair a massage while discussing about her concern over Nate dating Bree. The second one is where Vanessa is being directed by Georgina to talk to Dan about Olivia and her status as a movie star. The episode will air Monday, October 12.
One week away from the season 3 premiere, the cast of “Gossip Girl” are coming out to reveal their characters’ development in the new chapter. Jessica Szohr who plays Vanessa has been doing a favor of being the interviewer for Leighton Meester (Blair), Penn Badgley (Dan) and Ed Westwick (Chuck).
In her chat with Leighton, Jessica asked about the dynamic of Blair and Chuck. “It’s gonna be pretty fun because we get to sort of see what a real-life relationship would be between Chuck and Blair. It’s not a normal and conventional relationship by any means but for right now, the fighting and the love-hate is gonna be over a little bit,” Leighton explained.
Ed sounded off similar comment about the complicated relationship between his character and Leighton’s, saying “During the summer break, Chuck and Blair have been running around having some fun. We’ve been enjoying our love and our relationship. It’s not kind of your average relationship. It’s with an edge, it’s with sort of spark. …It’s hot and it’s heavy.”
In the interview with Penn, Vanessa pinned on the fact that Dan is now a family to his ex-girlfriend Serena. “Is Dan still in love with Serena?” Vanessa asked. Penn answered, “I don’t think they are. Now they act like brother and sister a lot. That’s also a huge transition for Dan’s character.”
Blake Lively and Chace Crawford meanwhile did an individual tape of themselves speaking about their characters Serena and Nate respectively. Blake said Serena is having an identity crisis because she was looking for her father and Carter (Sebastian Stan) will aid her a lot in this. Nate meanwhile is going to date a new girl who is actually from a family rival.

IS NYU READY FOR BLAIR WALDORF? / MICHELLE TRACHTENBERG RETURNS AS GEORGINA — Blair (Leighton Meester), who is determined to maintain her Queen status in college, embarks on her first day at NYU, along with Dan (Penn Badgley) and Vanessa (Jessica Szohr). Unfortunately, Georgina (guest star Michelle Trachtenberg) turns up as Blair’s roommate in the dorms, determined to make Blair a social outcast. As Serena (Blake Lively) prepares to depart for Brown, she and Chuck (Ed Westwick) have a major falling out, so she recruits Chuck’s enemy, Carter (guest star Sebastian Stan), to help her get even. Nate (Chace Crawford) and Bree (guest star JoAnna Garcia) decide to explore their relationship further, knowing full well it could cause tension between their families who are political rivals. Taylor Momsen and Matthew Settle also star. Norman Buckley directed the episode written by Amanda Lasher (#302).
TV bosses have moved swiftly to deny reports actress Hilary Duff has held up production on “Gossip Girl” with a number of demands.
The 21-year-old is currently in New York City filming episodes as a guest star on the hit TV teen drama, in which she plays a movie star who enrolls in a university with Vanessa, played by Jessica Szohr.
Rumors swirled that Duff had infuriated the show’s cast after refusing to leave her trailer as the others waited to film near Manhattan’s Gramercy Park neighborhood, causing a massive delay in shooting.
A source claims, “No one could believe they would actually hold up taping for her. Nobody in the cast behaves like that.”
But a representative for the show tells the New York Post’s gossip column Page Six the rumor is “absolutely not true.”

may be a naughty girl, but Leighton Meester said that the circulating sex tape featuring her and an unidentified partner is “not real.”
“It isnot real, so it makes me sort of sad. It’s unfortunate that it got carried as far as it did,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “People think it’s real because somebody says it is.”

added that the incidence merely illustrated one of the downsides of fame. “I definitely understand the nature of people better now and that the mere allegation of something like that could be headline news.
“[I don't] want most of what comes along with all of this,” she said.
Meester said that in contrast to the bad girl Blair Waldorf, she is in reality a good girl. “I’ve never been crazy. I’m a very good girl, to be honest,” she said. “I don’t do anything to hurt anybody. Honestly, all I ever do is work.”
TMZ claimed in June that a company was shopping a scandalous, X-rated video from a few years back that featured a younger Gossip Girl
star performing a striptease for her then boyfriend.
In the same interview with the magazine, which features her on the cover, she also revealed that she endured walking for a mile in a pair of Marc Jacobs red leather slingbacks prior to snagging the role of Blair Waldorf on the series.
“In my heart, I could picture myself wearing them living in New York,” she said. “So I wore them to the audition and got the part. I can’t give them away because every time I wear them, I’m living that dream.”
