While most of the ridiculously beautiful ‘Gossip Girl‘ cast is currently scattered to the four winds, the man behind the eponymous Chuck Bass, Ed Westwick, was in attendance at the CW’s presentation to TV critics. He was joined by ‘Gossip Girl’ executive producers Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage and Joshua Safran.
First up, a juicy sizzle reel treated us to the Upper East Siders’ exploits in Paris. It’s all play and no work for our naughty New Yorkers when ‘Gossip Girl‘ returns with two episodes set in Paris this fall.

More highlights follow after the jump …
The critics were treated to brief clips of Serena flirting her way through Paris, hopping a ride on a moped and getting into another legendary catfight with BFFrenemy Blair in which she ends up getting pushed into a fountain. Meanwhile, Dan was in NYC playing babysitter (or perhaps baby-daddy?) to Georgina’s shocking spawn back in Brooklyn, Nate canoodling with two girls at once, and the return of Chuck Bass. Expect an electric reunion between Chuck and Blair at a train station, with Blair in a stunning red dress. And, of course, enviable outfits galore.
On the spoiler front, Schwartz and Savage were happy to hint a little of what we can look forward to when ‘Gossip Girl’ makes its dramatic debut.
– Savage admitted that a trip to Paris has been a dream of hers since season one of the show, but they started laying the groundwork for the plan in January, lining up support from the network’s marketing division and financial help from other investors. She revealed that they were the first production to ever shoot inside the Musée d’Orsay, as well as hitting the Gare du Nord train terminal and in front of the Eiffel Tower. There will also be a “little village area that became Chuck’s world,” Savage said.
– Taylor Momsen’s divisive character, Jenny Humphrey, left on such dramatic terms, Savage said it would’ve been anticlimactic to bring her back immediately as though nothing had happened. Instead, expect her to return at some point during the first half of the season, with as much drama as possible.
– Katie Cassidy’s character “has a great arc,” Schwartz promised. “She’ll raise a lot of trouble, turn everyone on their heads and stir the pot.”
– New York’s Fashion’s Night Out will be featured in the third episode — you will see characters preparing for it and taking part. Because of the event, the show shot in Diane von Furstenburg’s store, and the designer herself showed up for it.
– Westwick said that he was “blown away” by the performance of Clemence Poesy, who will play his new love interest. “I had to catch myself a few times in the scene and remind myself that I was supposed to be acting,” he laughed.
– Chuck and Blair will be a driving force this season in terms of storylines. “Blair and Chuck seeing each other will have explosive consequences that will play out through the rest of the season,” Schwartz teased.
– On his character’s progression this season, Westwick said that Chuck will be in a dark place after being shot and left for dead “his world is crumbling around him; he’s trying to decide whether or not he wants to be Chuck Bass anymore.”
– “You will be seeing more of Georgina Sparks [Michelle Trachtenberg] in more ways than one,” Savage promised.
– When Gossip Girl comes back online this year, she’ll be “under construction,” Schwartz said. “She’ll be giving herself a face-lift, adding new features that she never had before.” Savage felt that they had fallen behind technology last season and want to get back ahead of the curve with new advances in gadgetry.
– Savage wants to go to Tokyo next — Warner Bros. willing.
– Shockingly, Savage and Schwartz were approached to produce original ‘Gossip Girl’ episodes for China, even though the show doesn’t even air on Chinese television. “They estimate that more people watch us online in China than all of America’s viewing audience combined,” Savage said.

Vogue’s shopping event Fashion’s Night Out will be the guest star on two episodes of “Gossip Girl,” the New York Post reports. Vogue editors Hamish Bowles and Lauren Santo Domingo were shot yesterday in fictional–but probably true to life scenes–in which they prepare for the night. In real life, the event will take place on September 10.
Are Chuck and Blair going to be together on Gossip Girl this upcoming season? Maybe at some point? What about Dan and Serena when the show returns September 13?
E! Online offers the following updates on the two couples in its spoiler Q&A:
Q: Please, some good Gossip Girl
news! I heard that Clémence Poesy (Eva) is going to be a series regular now. Please say that’s not so! I want hope for Chuck and Blair.
A: Sources say Clémence Poésy is not a series regular for the coming season, and Blair does not have a new love interest in the works. So maybe that’s … something?!
While fans’ hopes for a Chair reconciliation should be tempered, at least in the early going, there is definitely hope, despite the addition of Mr. Bass’ new European lady love.
In other news, those photos of Dan and Vanessa pushing around a stroller? Rumor has it that’s Dan’s actual baby! Shocked they’re going through with that storyline. You?
Q: Will Dan and Serena be together when this season starts?
A: The latest is I’m hearing is no, they will not be. Can’t imagine what she doesn’t see in her sorta-kinda half brother soon to be with child!
‘Gossip Girl‘ Star Leighton Meester Teases New Season
“Gossip Girl” will go international when season four kicks off this fall. And while we know the Upper East Siders take their drama to Paris, we wondered what else fans could expect from Blair Waldorf and the crew. For one, is now the right time for Chuck (Ed Westwick) to date a new girl (Clemence Poésy)? We put that question and more to star Leighton Meester when we visited the set of her upcoming movie “Monte Carlo.”
“I am a fan, which sounds ridiculous, of Chuck and Blair,” Leighton told MTV News of the on-off couple she portrays with Westwick. “I love their relationship, and I really love working with Ed, which is what it probably boils down to. But yeah, I think maybe there needed to be some sort of break in their relationship and some sort of drama,” she continued. “Maybe it was going too well, and then there was the downward spiral with his uncle, which was fun to play out but I hate fighting.”
Chuck won’t be the only one getting some action as Poésy’s new character shakes things up: Former “Melrose Place” star Katie Cassidy is set to ignite Nate’s (Chace Crawford) love life next season.
“I hope we cross paths, but it would be weird to have a completely different dynamic [onscreen],” Meester said of Cassidy who’s also her co-star in the upcoming “Monte Carlo.” “I mean, it would be really fun. I think she’s coming on the show, maybe, to cause a little bit of trouble. She might not say it, but I will. I think she’s very much capable of that, at least in the show. I think [Nate's] a total playboy and needs to be single and I think [Katie's character] is a bad girl, so maybe they are good for each other, actually,” Meester said.
But what about Chuck and Blair? They can’t really be over, right?
“I think Blair has done some healing, but not entirely,” she teased. “She definitely she has a flame burning for Chuck. Who wouldn’t?”
As soon as the sun came out, the cast and crew of “Gossip Girl” commenced the filming of season 4 in New York City Wednesday, July 14 afternoon. They had braved the weather that day and had to wait a couple of hours for the rain to stop so they could film in the Upper East Side.

Leighton Meester and Blake Lively are two of the cast who were spotted on the set sharing a scene. Looking like the usual walking fashion, the on-screen BFFs discussed something seriously while heading somewhere down the West End Avenue.
These photos debunked the false story by Us Magazine’s source who said Meester and Lively were in fighting term. According to the source, the actresses who filmed the show in Paris last week had been feuding since last season and competing against each other on and off set. “Their rivalry stems from Leighton feeling left out of wardrobe decisions,” an insider said.
However, the report has also been denied by Gossip Cop’s source.
“Gossip Girl” returns for the new season on Monday, September 13.

The production “Gossip Girl” season four is officially in motion. Leighton Meester and Blake Lively have been spotted in Paris to film at least two scenes on Monday, July 5. The first two episodes of the new season are indeed taking place in the French capital.
According to French site Grazia, the filming will be done at, among others, a French University called La Sorbonne which is located in the Latin District Quarter of Paris. Expected to join Meester and Lively in the filming are Ed Westwick and Clemence Poesy, the latter who has just been cast as Chuck’s mysterious lady friend Eva.
Meester actually has been close to France in the past few months because she was shooting for “Monte Carlo” in neighboring country Monaco. Along with her “Gossip” co-stars, she is expected to return to the Big Apple for the rest of the filming on Thursday, July 8.
“Gossip Girl” season 4 premieres Monday, September 13 being led by “90210“. There is little known about the story but one thing for sure, Nate is going to get a new girlfriend because Katie Cassidy has been cast for the role.

Gossip Girl will begin filming in Paris on Monday July 5th. They will be filming at French University, La Sorbonne in the Quartier Latin of Paris. Present will be Ed, Leighton, Blake, and Clémence Poésy.
